Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to media inquiries about forward Gabriel Jesus after he was not called up for the Brazil squad.

Jesus, along with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalles, have started the season impressively. But did not get Titi flagged “Samba” to enter the field at the end of this month.

Asked if there was a reason Jesus wasn’t in the squad. Arteta said before the team’s clash with Brentford: “I didn’t get anything.”

“What I have to do is try to convince the players that they have to keep going. Bow down and accept the national team ufabet coach’s decision and give (Titi) more reason if necessary. Obviously they want to be chosen.”

“That’s how the boys react and there’s nothing to comment on.”

Arteta went on to say: “Gareth picks the best squad he believes in for now but that does not mean it will be the case in November. The squad England have available is incredible. We will do everything we can to help Ben and I’m sure he will continue to give lots of reasons to have a chance for selection.”

White’s performances this season have helped Arsenal win five of their six Premier League fixtures to go top of the table. The versatile Englishman has started every game at right-back this term, despite being a centre-back by trade.

Ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell is among those who believe White should be in the England squad. “I think he has [shown enough to be in the squad],” Campbell told talkSPORT.
