Samuel L. Jackson may have confirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will be in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the actress herself isn’t prepared to say anything about it yet. She dodged the question when Kelly Ripa asked her about the film on Live with Kelly & Michael Friday morning.

“Samuel Jackson can say what he likes,” Olsen said with a smile, reports E! News.

“OK. I think that means, yes,” Ripa replied. She then asked if she would be seeing Olsen at the New York Comic Con this weekend.

“Actually, my brother works for a comic book, so you might. Because I might be visiting his booth,” she replied.

Olsen was supposed to be on the show  to talk about her role in the new off-Broadway production of Romeo & Juliet. She also appears in Spike Lee’s remake of Oldboy and she’s set to appear in next year’s Godzilla reboot.

Earlier this month, Jackson, who plays Nick Fury in the Marvel films, told the Wall Street Journal that they “added” Olsen, but admitted, “…I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.” It’s rumored that she will play the Scarlet Witch, an Avengers hero who has yet to appear in the films.

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theaters on May 1, 2015.

When it was announced that Oldboy, Chan-wook Park’s 2003 cinematic classic, would be getting a Hollywood remake, there were a lot of skeptics. As the cast and crew took shape — Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson and Sharlto Copley would star for director Spike Lee — our doubts were slightly assuaged.

Then the first footage from Spike Lee’s new vision for Oldboy was released and all remaining fearswere instantly transformed into unbridled anticipation thanks to the trailer’s stylish visuals, live-wire performance and a clear dedication to the shocking source material.

ETonline scored an exclusive clip from Oldboy that showcases the film’s two most important performances: Brolin as Joe Doucett and Elizabeth Olsen as Marie. I think you’ll agree that their chemistry is spot on, as is the tone of dread infused throughout every single frame.

Oldboy opens in theaters on November 27.

The phrase “rising star” was invented for performers like Elizabeth Olsen. The 24-year-old actress (younger sister of fashion moguls Mary-Kate and Ashley) first wowed movie audiences as the haunted Martha in 2011’s critically acclaimed Martha Marcy May Marlene, and will star in three soon-to-be released films, plus Godzilla and a forthcoming star turn as the Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Rather than heading off to Hollywood for good, Olsen, a recent grad of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, is currently in previews as Juliet Capulet in Classic Stage Company’s revival of Romeo & Juliet. The in-demand actress recently chatted with Broadway.com about loving Shakespeare, lessons learned from her famous sisters, and more.

How does it feel to be making your off-Broadway debut in Romeo & Juliet?
It’s really, really exciting and terrifying [laughs]. For a couple of years, [CSC Artistic Director] Brian Kulick and I have been trying to figure out what to do together. Last March, he proposed a reading of Romeo & Juliet, and I wasn’t that interested until I started to do the work. I feel like I saw Romeo & Juliet for the first time. I always thought of it as the most typical Shakespeare play; every human being on earth, if they know literature, knows Romeo & Juliet. But I realized there’s a reason why, because it’s one of the most beautiful plays every written.

What do you relate to in the character of Juliet?
You cannot bend Juliet—she is so determined and headstrong, but not in the negative sense. Anytime she sets her mind on something, she attacks it at full force and I find that fascinating. She’s so smart about everything and she’s such a strong young woman, the only one who’s making active choices. Everyone else is dealing with things, and she’s the one who proposes answers.

Elizabeth Olsen will be joining the ranks of the Avengers as the Scarlet Witch… at least, according to Samuel L Jackson.

After revealing the addition of the Scarlet Witch in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ there’s been plenty of speculation as to who will eventually be cast in the role. But it looks as though Nick Fury has been busy as the Avengers Initiative continues to recruit… and the legendary Samuel L Jackson reveals that Elizabeth Olsen is already on board to play the Scarlet Witch.

In a brief but revealing interview with the Wall Street Journal, Samuel L Jackson let slip that Elizabeth Olsen will be joining the ranks of the Avengers. “I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year,” Jackson said about ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’. “I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen [who will play the Scarlet Witch], but I don’t know what she’s doing, if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

Of course, it’s not 100% official until confirmed by Marvel… but coming from Samuel L Jackson, I think it’s safe to say the cat’s out of the bag. According to earlier rumours, Joss Whedon flirted with the idea of bringing Olsen on board after his first choice, Saoirse Ronan, turned down the role. But don’t think for one minute that she’s a sub-par replacement – starring in both the ‘Oldboy’ remake as well as ‘Godzilla’ in 2014, it looks as though she’ll be on her way to becoming a household name by the time the Avengers sequel is released.

There’s still the small matter of who will play her brother, Quicksilver. And that honour seems to go to Aaron Taylor Johnson – the star of ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Kick-Ass 2’. How these two new Avengers will fit into the team remains to be seen… but we can’t wait to find out.
